Good News!

15 December 2007

It’s been a while since I’ve really updated my site.  So much has been going on these last few months that my free time I try to spend with Michelle.  Anyways, here are some updates in our life.

My dad was accepted to the Army National Guard this week!  This is great because he’ll be able to go out to the desert as a Chaplain and be able to help our men and women on the battlefield when they are in need!  His education, wisdom and knowledge will be very beneficial and comfort for those struggling with their families being back home and friends being hurt or killed.  The Army will also be honoring his prior 11 years of active duty service which will put him only 9 years away from retirement!  With my mom being 2 months away, that is very good news for my parents.  This will greatly help them financially!

Speaking of my Mom!  She’ll be coming home from Germany on leave for about 9 days or so at the end of January.  By then I will not have seen her for almost 7 months!!  Dad has gone to see her once already,  Jer and Jen over Thanksgiving, Dad is going back again over Christmas and ……. WE might get to go see her in February!!  That will be way cool.  Other than Puerto Rico and Bahamas, I’ve never REALLY go to leave the country.  That would be super exciting!

Michelle is working now at a wonderful place called A Woman’s Place Ministries.  It’s a Crisis Pregnancy Center  in Tampa.  They don’t do abortions or anything like that.  It’s more of an informational/counseling place where women can come and get tested for babies, get a 4D sonagram, and some stuff to help them with the babies.  All for free!  It’s a Christian based organization in which Michelle can help people!  It’s exactly what she wanted for in a job.  Bless her!

Well that’s about all for now.  I’ll try to update again before Christmas, if not… MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Walk Hard – Don’t Go See It!

15 December 2007

Michelle and I were given tickets to a sneak preview to see this movie.  We thought it would be funny, considering who’s in it, and it was for about the first 35minutes or so.  Out of nowhere a big F-bomb was dropped.  Not to far after that, basically a porn scene showed up.  There were at least 7-8 naked women on screen.  A few seconds later a penis walked into the picture…  Not like in the background or anything, it was pretty big on screen. It showed up again a few seconds later.  About 2 scenes later, Michelle and I walked out.

What amazes me most about this movie was that it only received an R rating.  Sadly, full frontal nudity of both male and female these days are only considered rated R.  On top of that there were many drug references, vulgarity, nudity, sexual comments and scenes outside the 1 I already mentioned.. And this was only like 40-45minutes into the movie.  I can’t tell you what else was in it because we walked right out.

This is what our culture thinks is funny.  Movies like Walk Hard, Knocked Up, the 40 Year Old Virgin,  SuperBad… I could go on.  This is the filth thats getting on our screens.  This stuff is sick and it’s not funny.  Why are we supporting it as a nation and letting it fill our screens?  When did we get so jaded?  We really need to stand up and do something about this.  Stop supporting the crap that’s put out there.  Say something about it too.  If you find yourself in one of those movies, walk out. Who cares what everyone else thinks.  Stand up for what you believe in and don’t stand for that filth.
