The Aftermath
I want to first off THANK EVERYONE who has helped us through prayer, items, and money. It was all unexpected but MOST appreciated! We’ve just started to slow down and get settled in since it all happened, but it’s still going for probably another week or so.
It’s been a very crazy week. Monday morning we went back to the apartment to start the cleanup. My wonderful mother came out on her BIRTHDAY to help us clean. We stayed in there from 11am till 10pm before we called it a night. Mama went home around 6pm and Michelle and I went to stay at a friends house (Thanks John and Hellen!!!!)
Day 2, Michelle and I got up early and went on to the apartment again. Adora, our wonderful sister, came and helped out ALL DAY long. We cleaned every single thing in our apartment and packed it into a storage unit. We got almost everything done that night and went to Tampa to stay the night. I was sick sent Sunday, and this night was the worst for me.
Day 3, Michelle and I drove back from Tampa, grabbed the last of the stuff, got a bigger truck and packed everything up. I went over to my job and told them that I would be leaving to move to Tampa. It was hard to do, I liked it there. We got everything together and drove out around 6pmish to head home.
Mom and Dad were at Lifepoint (Church) working on the building to get it ready for Sunday (first service). We stopped in and met a lady who is a professional net worker and she told us about a way to help get our names out and help us to get jobs. Michelle is fortunately able to keep her job for a few more months and I need a new one here in Tampa.
God is good and He is providing so much for us. We have a free washer and dryer and Refrigerator that we are going to be getting in a week or two. We’ve determined that our couch is probably destroyed and that the bed is not far behind (still need to evaluate it). Going to try and get the bed replaced through the insurance we had on it, but the bed we’ll need to buy new when we move to a new place. We were able to save our pretty nice rug that we bought when we got married. It’s a little soot stained still, but we’ve been able to get it pretty clean and smells really nice!
It will all be ok. Thanks for all of your support! We don’t need any more money, but we won’t deny it if it comes
Love you all!
Chris and Michelle
